Spotlight on Ronwaldo Vuelba, 8th Grade Music Student

RONWALDO VUELBA is an 8th Grade Guitar Student at the St. Sebastian School. Normally it would have been unlikely for Ronwaldo and Perry, a professional Jazz musician, to cross paths. However because of Education Through Music-Los Angeles, Perry has been able to mentor and build a relationship with numerous students like Ronwaldo and the kids at St. Sebastian School for the past 3 years.
Music helps me with my studies - shared Ronwaldo about how music has increased his focus and concentration in school.

It’s really fun – it’s fun to make music.
Do you have a favorite musical experience?
Yeah, actually – performing at the Buckley School Benefit Concert [this past January 2009]. It was my first time playing for so many people – over 400 people! – I was a little nervous. But Mr. Smith was encouraging and he said I’d be fine, and I took his word for it - so I was okay.
