UCLA MUSIC MARKETERS AND 12 INTERNATIONAL ECLECTIC ACTS TO PERFORM THEIR "MUSIC THAT MATTERS" SHOWCASE AT THE PLUSH LOUNGE ON NOVEMBER 12^TH. BENEFIT FOR “EDUCATION THROUGH MUSIC-LA.”

Los Angeles (BB): UCLA EXTENSION MUSIC MARKETING CLASS, under the direction of former major label recording artist/Billboard author Bobby Borg and Sean Healy Presents, is scheduled to perform their "MUSIC THAT MATTERS" concert at the key club on November 12th at 7:00 pm to 1:30 AM. Admission is free.

A diverse and talented group of artists & entertainment majors are determined to prove that the independent music scene in Los Angeles is thriving. While artists have relied for decades on major recording conglomerates for that traditional “big deal” (a suffering business model), they can now release, sell and promote their own music. Artists can have a voice utilizing social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook and incorporating support media like product sponsorships and charities.

Performers include: Annie Nepomuceno, Eugene Prince, Katie Fitzgerald, Allen Forest, Across, New Cycle, Sons of Siam, IPO Pharr, Nedara, Toni & Ash, Jinsai, and Crime Rock.

Education Through Music-LA (www.etmla.org) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is to provide comprehensive music education in the curricula of disadvantaged schools in order to enhance students’ academic achievement and creative and overall development. ETM-LA believes that every child deserves a well-rounded education: one that includes music both as a subject in its own right and as a means of supporting learning in other areas. Various sponsors of the Nov 12^th event will provide raffle items to benefit ETM-LA. DIY Music Marketing is a UCLA Extension class for the Department of Entertainment Studies at the UCLA Extension.
