ETM-LA Earns a Spot on GlobalGiving!

ETM-LA recently competed in GlobalGiving's American Open, a fundraising challenge where American Non-Profits can win a permanent spot on GlobalGiving.com. During the 3 week period of the "American Open," which ran from June 8 until June 30, ETM-LA was able to raise $4,830 from 94 individual donors, surpassing the $4,000 from 50 donor-goal needed to secure a permanent spot on the site. This challenge by GlobalGiving, the internationally recognized marketplace for philanthropy, is part of their efforts to support American non-profits like ETM-LA that are providing much needed support to their local communities throughout the economic downturn.

“We are excited for the chance to tap into GlobalGiving’s network of committed donors and corporate sponsors who can support our efforts to provide and sustain music instruction as part of the core curriculum for underserved schools as a means to enhance the lives of our youth,” says Victoria Lanier, ETM-LA Executive Director.

ETM-LA was one of the competing organizations that successfully raised at least $4,000 from at least 50 unique donors through GlobalGiving between June 8 and June 30, earning a permanent spot on the website.

Along with a permanent profile on the prominent fundraising site, ETM-LA also gains free access to innovative web 2.0 fundraising tools and connects to a broad network of thousands of donors and corporate and foundation partners already engaged in the GlobalGiving network.

“Local non-profits like ETM-LA are deeply important to the wellbeing of communities all around America, especially when folks are struggling,” said Mari Kuraishi, President and Co-Founder of GlobalGiving. “Many of our donors are looking for opportunities here in the U.S. and we want to do everything we can to match the demand with the unbelievable need around the country. It is especially the small, grassroots efforts and creative innovators that do not have the institutional support from bigger institutions that we hope to help.”
